Dawn and dusk can help break a tie between otherwise safe fishing windows.

Wilmington sits upriver from beaches and inlets that open onto the Atlantic. River structure, marsh creeks, docks, surf, inlets, reefs, wrecks, and offshore ledges offer options, but the station and fishing grounds can be many miles apart.
Inshore drum and trout provide broad opportunity, with flounder, cobia, king mackerel, mahi, and bottom species entering stronger seasonal windows. Weather and regulations shape offshore availability as much as the calendar.
The Cape Fear River combines tide with river flow, and inlet conditions may differ greatly from downtown Wilmington. Use the station for context, then check the selected inlet, ocean swell, and return route directly.
Planning only: Weather and tide feeds can be delayed or unavailable, and a station prediction does not describe every inlet, bay, creek, or offshore area. Verify actual conditions and never use this page for navigation.
