Dawn and dusk can help break a tie between otherwise safe fishing windows.

Morehead City connects protected sounds and harbor water to Beaufort Inlet and the Atlantic. Anglers can target marsh edges, docks, inlet structure, artificial reefs, wrecks, and distant blue water. The Gulf Stream is productive but requires a long-range forecast and capable vessel.
Inshore drum and trout offer broad seasonal opportunity. Cobia and mahi are associated with warmer water and bait, while wahoo and tuna timing varies with currents and temperature breaks. Bluefin tuna can create a notable cool-season fishery when regulations allow.
Beaufort Inlet can change character as wind, swell, and current interact. A harbor observation is not an offshore forecast. Match the tide stage to the exact inlet, marsh, or structure you intend to fish.
Planning only: Weather and tide feeds can be delayed or unavailable, and a station prediction does not describe every inlet, bay, creek, or offshore area. Verify actual conditions and never use this page for navigation.
